Parenting can be the most expensive and hardest thing to do. Studies have estimated to raise a child it would be “$12,825 per year”. I respect your decision to give your baby up for adoption because of the fact you knew for sure you wouldn’t be able to provide the baby, especially being a single mother. You were not being selfish at all in fact you were looking out for the baby’s future making sure the baby was healthy and went to a good family. By choosing adoption you gave the baby a chance of an amazing childhood and most importantly a family that would love and care for it. Not only did you grow from this experience it made you a better person you learned the importance of accepting your identity and matured in the process. Ultimately i agree with everything you did, because you were strong enough to carry the baby to full term through all the pain and sickness at such a young age. Also The fact that your parents accepted you and supported you no matter what made it more easier for you.
In your case you should taken in consideration the risk of having unprotected sex . Every couple that is sexually active is at risk of pregnancy no matter what and I agree with Roe v. Wade which states a woman’s has a right to make her own personal medical decisions and I agree. I am “pro choice” for women because they should have total control over their body, Women should not feel obligated to carry a fetus especially if there are not financially stable or just not ready. Women should feel comfortable and not be judge for their decision. Anti pro choice or pro abortion protestor should not go around plan parent hoods shooting and bombing these places, this is ironic because they’re pro life yet still killing innocent women. Overall women should feel the most safe and most secure in planned parenthood. Also women Who have been raped and got pregnant should have this option too because they never intended to have a baby so it’s a very difficult decision. Of course there are many other women are just not cut out to raise a kid like people who are alcoholics or drug addicts it is not a safe environment for the baby.
Overall what you did Juno was inspiring to all women and people could learn from your experience no matter what age and it shows a message of having protected sex and taking birth control. You have showed other women your bravery and strength, knowing that having a baby was not right for you because you couldn’t support it and giving it to a family that will love and care for it take a lot of courage. You could now focus on education and just living life to the fullest with a new appreciation.
